Digital Hydrodynamics
Technologies

Testing and building huge data sets allows us to ensure our yachts are at the leading edge, not just in the hull architecture, but also many other critical factors such as windage.

The data on our yachts, when provided to AI models then applied to CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software allows us to precisely evaluate weight distribution, pitch, and heel.

Careful attention to this process has real-world impacts – most notably that options selected by the client are accounted for in the balance and pitch of the yacht and performance is thus optimised.  And, we use thse technologies to carefully evaluate motoring performance, aware that the carbon footprint of the boat must be reduced to the minimum and range extended to the maximum.

High-Tech
Composite Technologies

At Advanced we use E-Glass hulls for their high stiffness, low weight, and noise dampening properties – with extensive use of carbon fibre throughout to enhance performance still further.

Our yachts and catamarans feature full carbon decks and superstructures for enhanced performance and strength.  We also make careful use of high-performance foam cores – 3D cnc shaped to fit our hulls and other structures to ensure supreme accuracy in all measurements while providing added buoyancy.

In fact, the cores of the new catamarans so extensive as to make them significantly safer even in the most catastrophic circumstances.  All of our hulls are faired and painted in the owner’s choice of finish, which can be Awlgrip®, Epifanes or other major Polyurethane coating brands which offer greater durability and longevity than the gelcoat used by most builders.

Vacuum Infusion

All structures including hulls, decks, superstructures, and even bulkheads are laminated using vacuum bagged and resin-infused (suction-spread resin impregnation).

This ensures consistent distribution of the resins, the elimination of ecologically damaging resin wastage, and a consistent finish for ease of construction in the later stages of production.

Most of all, vacuum infusion helps us reduce weight – reduced weight means reduced loads on spars, rigging and lines, and increased reliability.

At Advanced we know the key to building great boats is building great teams – the worlds best naval architects, our in-house team of engineers, design engineers, and production managers combine as part of an unrivalled research and development philosophy.

We are in a constant cycle of innovation, utilising next-generation software and technologies, equipment and materials. Here are a few examples of what stands behind the scenes of our construction processes.

Eco Propulsion
& Power Management

Advanced Yachts is aimed to be true to our name when it comes to ecological considerations.  This is the new frontier of yachting technologies because the challenges are greater than in land-based motor sports – our atmosphere is water, not air and it presents exponentially greater resistance.

In eco power management option, we’re using high-output alternators to power an enhanced set of house batteries – taking what would be power oversupply and storing it to eliminate the need for a traditional generator. In the eco propulsion setup, this power is diverted to a set of hybrid drives which can operate on the electrical supply, the diesel combustion engines, or both together.

Precision
Timber Finishes

Exquisite interiors begin from precision 3D modelling in the design phase.  In this area, there is no substitute for the early investment we make in interior and exterior design – both working hand-in-hand to deliver a precision model that we use to mock up the interior.

It results in reduced fitout time as each component is cut to exacting tolerance levels, and enables us to use every available square millimetre of space (we recognise the all-important storace space!) but this also affects the less-glamorous features such as the anchor chain space, chain-drop distance, the ability to fit dive compressors and in some cases to fit additional  watermakers.
